AFTEK UNIVERSAL PRIMER 20L

Description

Aftek Universal primer is a rapid drying solvent free low VOC water based acrylic primer. It is supplied in a 20L container and is also available in a 5L container. It is designed for use over porous and non-porous substrates such as existing tiles, old paint (with the exception of oil based paints), vinyl adhesive, vinyl tiles, carpet adhesive residue, metal surfaces, sealed or burnished concrete floors. Aftek's Universal Primer is compatible with cement based ceramic tile adhesives.

    • APPLICATION

    Surface Preparation:

    The sub floor must be free of oil, grease, wax, curing compounds, dust, old adhesive and any other contamination, which may inhibit bond.

    Mixing:

    Thoroughly mix primer before use.

    Placement:

    For porous substrates, dilute Universal primer using 4 parts clean water and 1 part Universal primer. Apply using a roller, brush or broom, ensuring entire area is completely primed. Very absorbent concrete may require a second coat. Allow to cure for 30 minutes.

    Non - Porous substrates, apply an even layer of undiluted Universal Primer. Allow primer to dry to a clear film - approximately 2 hours at 25 degrees Celsius. Once Universal primer is tack free green film, toppings such as tile adhesives or levelling compounds can be applied.

    Clean Up:

    Clean all equipment with water immediately after use.

    Storage:

    12 months in unopened containers.

    Yield:

    Approximately 5 to 10 square metres per litre.
